The United Kingdom – Proud Partner Country of the 3rd SECW

“The United Kingdom has long been a close partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a supporter of its Euro-Atlantic choice, which presents a valuable opportunity for growth and integration. The British Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to supporting political and economic stability and fostering prosperity in BiH and across the Western Balkan region. We are committed to supporting the delivery of reforms that improve the quality of life and opportunity for citizens across the country. We work bilaterally and with international partners, including as an active member of the Peace Implementation Council, which gives us a particular role in ensuring long term peace and security. The development of policies and legislation that promote renewables and enable the green transition, coupled with a massive investment injection in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s plentiful renewables potential, would be a powerful guarantee of the country’s long-term energy security which, of course, underpins its economic stability.

The Embassy team works closely with the Department for Business and Trade to ensure UK businesses thrive in the region and across trading partners. We support UK companies to succeed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including by helping them navigating the local business and political landscape. This often includes direct engagement with local and national authorities to address challenges such as unnecessary licensing delays or political obstacles. Additionally, the Embassy plays an important role in ensuring a stable and secure economic environment, and helping businesses understand and work within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s complex governance systems.

Ambassador Julian Reilly will take part in SECW 2025 as “such events are a great opportunity for networking and emphasising the need for fostering the energy transition in BiH.
