Nevena Smilevska is CEE Bankwatch Network’s just transition coordinator for the Western Balkans, she works closely with national campaigners to make the transition away from fossil fuels, particularly from coal, a just one. She has more than 12 year of experience in the NGO sector in the region working on decarbonisation, just transition and climate issues. She holds a BSc in Sociology. In her current project, she is promoting the idea of establishing a just transition fund for the Western Balkans and of strengthening municipalities that will be subject to transitioning away from coal, while at the same time following the process related to the Green Agenda for Western Balkans as well.
