The non-governmental organization People in Need (PIN), founded in 1992, has gradually established itself as a professional humanitarian organization focused on providing assistance in troubled regions and supporting the respect of human rights worldwide. Today, it is one of the largest non-profit organizations in Central Europe. In addition to humanitarian aid and human rights, they also work in the fields of education and social inclusion.
Timothy Jenkins, Director for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Regional Representative for the Western Balkans at PIN, participated in the third day of the 2nd SECW panel titled: “Achieving Ambitious Methane Reduction Goals.” Timothy, with his extensive experience in climate change, shed light on the opportunities for methane reduction, not only as an ecological step but also as an opportunity for economic progress through the application of innovative technologies and international cooperation.
As part of the 2nd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week, People in Need hosted a side event, the Kick-off CCAC meeting. This meeting served as an introductory event for the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) initiative, aiming to lay the foundation for future activities within the CCAC framework.
The SECW organizers visited the People in Need organization and presented them with a certificate of appreciation for their collaboration on the 2nd SECW. We reflected on the event, exchanged experiences, and discussed how to strengthen and enhance our cooperation for the 3rd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week.
We look forward to our continued partnership at the 3rd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week, which will be held from September 22–26, 2025.
Building a together an energy-efficient and sustainable future.
