The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Denis Bećirović, is the patron of this year’s 2nd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week (SECW).
In this regard, Dr. Bećirović stated:
“It is an honor for me to be the patron of the 2nd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week in Bosnia and Herzegovina, an event of great importance for our future. This event brings together experts, decision-makers, and stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the fields of energy and climate change. Bosnia and Herzegovina faces similar challenges to many countries around the world. Climate change and energy security are issues that require urgent and decisive actions. This event provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and innovations that can help in the transition to sustainable energy sources.
Our country is endowed with rich natural resources, including hydro, solar, and wind energy. Through the responsible use of these resources, we can significantly reduce harmful emissions and contribute to global efforts to protect the climate. Energy efficiency and infrastructure modernization are also key steps towards a sustainable future.
We hope that this event will bring valuable insights and solutions that will improve our energy policy and response to climate change.”
SECW is an international conference. In addition to the high patronage of the Chairman of the Presidency, it is held with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, the Vice President of the Federation of BiH Igor Stojanović, the Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Industry of the Federation of BiH, the Ministry of Environment of the Federation of BiH, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, the City of Mostar, as well as the support of numerous international and domestic institutions, organizations, and companies.
After the tremendous success of 2023 and great interest in the Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week, this year’s SECW will be held from September 23 to 27, 2024, at several locations in Sarajevo: in Hotel Hills, at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of BiH/Energoinvest, and the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH. Additionally, meetings, presentations, and receptions during the week will be held at embassy residences, the Sarajevo City Hall, and other locations which will be announced prior to the event.
