After the exceptional success of the 2023 event and the great interest in the Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week, this year’s SECW will take place from September 23 to 27, 2024, across several locations in Sarajevo: at the Hills Hotel, the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of BiH/Energoinvest, and the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH. Additionally, meetings, presentations, and formal receptions during the week will be held at the residences of embassies, Sarajevo City Hall, and other locations that will be announced prior to the event.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Musić, a member of the SECW Program Committee, states that this year’s program has been very carefully designed. “The time between the two events has been dedicated to gathering an agile and expert Program Committee, resulting in an extremely current, dynamic, and interesting program,” he explains. “Over the five days, five thematic areas will be covered. The first three days will focus on carbon neutrality, just transition, critical raw materials, and shaping the future of electricity. The fourth day will be dedicated to the work of Emerik Blum and will be held at Energoinvest, which is also a technical partner of SECW,” explained Prof. Dr. Musić, adding that the focus of the final, fifth day of the conference will be on shaping energy security and independence, and it will be held at the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH.
Last year, more than 1,000 participants attended the event, with 240 panelists, 23 moderators, nearly 50 partners, 33 sponsors, and 15 exhibitors providing support. Zina Jusić from the Organizing Committee states that registration for participation in the conference is already coming in at an intense pace. “The number of participants and physically available registrations is limited, as well as the space for company presentations in the Sponsor Hall of the event, so early registration is advised,” emphasized Jusić.
The organizers highlight that this is a unique format that will bring together a large number of companies, institutions, individuals, and decision-makers from the region and the EU, as well as from the pan-European zone and countries in the Middle East. Special panels and presentations are planned for the central locations, while additional meetings and events will take place simultaneously, providing an excellent opportunity for establishing new contacts and B2B exchange of experiences.
SECW is held under the high patronage of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Denis Bećirović, and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, the Vice-President of the Federation of BiH Igor Stojanović, the Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Industry of FBiH, the Ministry of Environment of FBiH, the City of Mostar, and numerous international and domestic institutions, organizations, and companies.
