The 3rd SECW to Be Held Under the High Patronage of the Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Denis Bećirović

We are honored and pleased that the 3rd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week will be held under the high patronage of the Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Denis Bećirović.

“It is a great pleasure for me to support the 3rd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week of BiH, an important event that brings together experts, decision-makers, and all relevant stakeholders in a joint discussion on key issues related to energy and climate change.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, like many countries around the world, is facing increasing challenges in the areas of climate change and energy security. This event provides an important platform for the exchange of ideas and innovations that can assist in the transition to sustainable energy sources.
Our country has significant potential in hydropower, solar, and wind energy, and by responsibly utilizing these resources, we can reduce emissions and contribute to global efforts to protect the climate. It is essential to adopt a legal framework for the energy sector at the state level, aligned with European standards, to ensure economic and security benefits for all citizens.

As the Chair of the Presidency of BiH, I spoke about these topics at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP29) in 2024. On that occasion, I emphasized that, in order to mitigate the climate crisis, it is necessary to focus on:
▪️ a more responsible policy that promotes nature protection;
▪️ improving green financing standards;
▪️ strengthening climate diplomacy;
▪️ developing educational programs that encourage climate innovation; and
▪️ empowering a new generation of climate leaders.
Energy efficiency and security must be priorities!

I invite you to engage and follow the activities of the Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week – together we can build a secure, sustainable, and energy-independent Bosnia and Herzegovina!” emphasized Dr. Bećirović.

The Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week will take place from September 22 to 26, 2025.
Building a together an energy-efficient and sustainable future.
