Jelena Pekić has a master's degree in economics. She is the director of the citizens' association, think-thank organization Forum of Left Initiatives. With a team of collaborators, he leads a project called "Just transition in regions rich in coal", which is implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina with support of the Parliament of Denmark. In the period 2019-2022, she was engaged in in the work of the director of the Directorate for Commodity Reserves of the Canton of Sarajevo. After the October 2022 elections, she was elected to the position of chairperson of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly and is a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
