Together we build an energy-efficient and renewable future!

23. - 27.09.2024. Sarajevo

SECW 2024 is a meticulously designed event, with the goal to bring together all key participants in the fields of energy and climate, and to present sustainable energy and climate policies based, above all, on reaching EU goals, founded on research and studies in the subject areas.

SECW 2024 offers concurrent sessions, providing numerous networking opportunities to engage with leading experts, including organizations, agencies, the business community, scientific companies, global and regional enterprises, investors, academia, NGOs, entrepreneurs and more.

The focus of SECW 2024 is on fostering discussions and joint efforts to resolve the climate crisis through sustainable business solutions, disruptive technology and advanced knowledge focusing on energy.

SECW contributes to the important topics of adaptation, mitigation and resilience to climate change, predominantly in the field of energy, emphasizing that regional initiatives and individual efforts that reconcile the energy and climate sectors can have a significant effect.

It is undoubtedly and scientifically proven that today’s climate changes are the result of human activity. Although the climate has naturally changed throughout Earth’s history, the current warming trend is unprecedented, and represents a significant vulnerability for the survival of the Planet as we know it.

Goal:

Promoting the development of policies and measures that support the transition to a sustainable energy system in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans region, raising awareness and educating participants about the importance of sustainable energy and climate change among citizens, especially young people, and connecting relevant stakeholders from different sectors, including governments, businesses, non-governmental organizations, the academic community, media, etc., in order to exchange knowledge and experiences, and promote innovative technologies, solutions, and practices in the field of energy and climate change. Providing a platform for presenting and promoting projects and initiatives that contribute to sustainable development in energy and climate change.

Mission:

Building a sustainable energy and climate future informed by lessons learned from past energy and climate episodes, transforming and providing a clear vision and setting goals, measures, and policies for implementing activities that will inspire the development of a sustainable energy sector over the next 50 years. Encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and innovative solutions for sustainable energy and climate future while increasing awareness and understanding of energy and climate issues among experts, citizens, and stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans region with a focus on exchanging knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the fields of energy and climate change.

During five days of interactive discussions at the highest level of the community SECW 2023 brought together 1000 participants from around the world, including senior officials, representatives from all levels of government, ministries of energy, climate and environment, land management, transport, representatives of the European Union institutions, Energy Community, World Energy Council, IRENA, academia, experts, investors, financiers, non-governmental organizations, media and other stakeholders.
