Almir Bijedić

Director of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute

    Almir Bijedić was born in 1967 in Bosanski Novi. He earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Sarajevo. He gained work experience in various roles, including as a teacher at the secondary school "Ibrahim Perviz" in Zenica, as the Executive Director at "AREL" d.d. Zenica, and as the Chief Engineer for bridges at the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is currently the Director of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute. In 2019 the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina appointed him as the rotating permanent representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the World Meteorological Organization. He worked with the High-Level Task Team for international cooperation within Regional Association VI of the World Meteorological Organization. He is a member of the organizing committees for the Congress on Water Management and the Symposium on Air Quality Planning in Cities, organized by the Association of Consultants and Engineers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the author and co-author of several professional papers in the fields of environmental protection and hydrology. Moreover, he participated in the implementation of numerous national and international projects that have contributed to the development of meteorology, hydrology, and seismology in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
