    Ms. Ayşen Erdinçler graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Environmental Engineering in 1986 and received master's degree from the same department in 1989. Erdinçler received her second master's degree in 1991 and his doctorate in 1996 from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University in the USA and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the same university. Ms. Erdinçler started his duty as a faculty member at Boğaziçi University Institute of Environmental Sciences in 1997 and has been continuing as a professor since 2008. Continuing her academic studies on "sustainable waste management", "wastewater treatment sludge management", "biomass energy", "energy production from waste" and "biological wastewater treatment", Erdinçler has been published in various journals and attended various congresses, seminars, panels, academic meetings. She has many scientific works presented in international refereed journals and presented in international/national congresses. Prof. Dr. Ayşen Erdinçler has been appointed as the Head of Environmental Protection and Control Department of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 2019. She is the head of SECAP group within the EU4 Energy Transition: Covenant of Mayors in Western Balkans and Türkiye.
