Professor at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Sarajevo
Mersudin Avdibegović is a full professor at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Sarajevo (scientific field: Economics, policy and organization of forestry and urban greenery). He studied, got his master's degree and Ph.D. at the Faculty of Forestry in Sarajevo and attended postgraduate studies organized by the Norwegian School of Management BI/University of Oslo and the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo. Currently, he is the representative of BiH in the International Council of IUFRO. He used to serve as a member of MEP IPBES, co-chairman of the IPBES Working Group for Policy Instruments and Methodologies and national representative in the COST Domain Committee "Forest Products and Service". Currently he represents BiH in the FAO group "Management of Mountain Watersheds" and the group "Forest Pedagogics". Areas of scientific interest: science-policy-business interface, national and international forestry and environmental policy, political and economic aspects of forest biomass use for energy, sustainable forest management, assessment of the state of nature and biodiversity, forest and environmental legislation, participation and resolution of conflicts regarding natural resources. Experience in more than 80 research projects. Scientific opus: 4 books, 4 scientific monographs, 3 chapters in international monographs and more than 200 scientific and professional papers (Google Scholar references: citations 975, h-index 16, i10-index 23).
