Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Croatia
Ankica Kovač is Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Croatia, where she holds position of Head of Power Engineering Laboratory. She holds her PhD in renewable hydrogen production. Her research interest is focused on green energy transition, including the whole hydrogen value chain. She serves as an Assistant Editor in International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, and as a project evaluator within Horizon Europe, Clean Hydrogen Partnership, and Croatian Science Foundation. Ankica is founder and chair of the Renewable Hydrogen Energy Convention and Training on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells. With her Hydrogen Group she designed first Croatian hydrogen-powered bicycle and installed first Croatian HRS. In cooperation with Toyota Croatia, she organized Croatia Mirai Challenge as aroad trip from Zagreb to Brussels. Among other projects, Ankica participates in North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley project as a group leader. Ankica is Croatian representative in Hydrogen Europe Research and in The Collaboration Programme on Advanced Fuel Cells. She is a member of Council of President of Republic of Croatia for Energy Transition, Vice President of Croatian Hydrogen Association, and served as Vice President of Expert Working Group for development of Croatian Hydrogen Strategy. Ankica was awarded the Croatian Woman of Influence Award in the category of Leadership and Innovation.
